Congratulations to SIAM fighter Charmaine Tweet for her gold medal victory at the IFMA world amateur championships in Bangkok,Thailand.
Charmaine defeated fighters from the USA,Russia and Finland to capture the gold medal! Way to go Char!!!

SIAM Muay Thai athlete Sean Quinn will be competing December 12, 2009 in the event, WRECKMMA "Fight for the troops". The event will be held at the Robert Guertin Arena in Gatineau, Quebec.

Sean Quinn(SIAM MUAY THAI) vs Francois Lacombe – 135
Quinn starts out with leg kicks. As soon as Lacombe tries to close distance, Quinn takes him down. Quinn gets full mount and lands some hard ground and pound. Lacombe wants none of that and gives up back where Quinn goes for the Rear Naked. Back to full mount again and Lacombe eats some hard shots as Quinn is unforgiving and punishes his opponent for the bad position he is in. Side choke attempt by Quinn and then back to full mount. Lacombe cannot escape. Lacombe gives up back again and then submits to a Rear Naked Choke. A vicious, dominating performance by Sean Quinn.

On November 7th the event "Battle of the Sexes" will be taking place at the Glencairn rec centre.
This is a fundraising event to help SIAM fighter Charmaine Tweet raise the needed funds for her trip to Bangkok Thailand to compete in the amatuer championships at the end of November.
Charmaine will be taking on "Woody" from the radio station JACK FM.
There will also be 4 exibition matches between SIAM fighters to round out the card.
Fights start at 7 pm.
Tickets are $15 advance or $20 at the door and can be obtained by calling 306-412-0216 or stop by SIAM Muay Thai.
